La Guarida

Havana's most famous paladar, tucked inside a crumbling mansion with a grand marble staircase. The ropa vieja is exceptional, and the rooftop bar has sweeping views of Centro Habana. Book ahead and dress up — this is a celebration.

San Cristóbal

A quirky paladar bursting with memorabilia where Obama once dined. The lobster tail is excellent, and the owner Carlos is a character worth meeting. Every corner is covered with photos, antiques, and pure Havana personality.

Paladar Doña Eutimia

Legendary Old Havana spot serving the best ropa vieja in the city in a tiny, tile-floored dining room. Everything is cooked with love and tastes like a Cuban grandmother's kitchen. Come early or face a serious wait.

Café Laurent

A hidden penthouse restaurant in Vedado with stunning views and creative Cuban cuisine. The octopus is tender and well-spiced, and the cocktails are impeccable. The secret elevator ride to the top is part of the adventure.

El Café

A cozy corner spot on a leafy Old Havana square, perfect for strong Cuban coffee and people-watching. The breakfast sandwiches are simple and satisfying, and the atmosphere is pure bohemian charm. Chill here with a book.

ChaChaChá

Funky paladar in Old Havana with bold flavors and an artsy crowd. The plantain-crusted fish is a standout, and the mojitos flow freely. It's vibrant, noisy, and exactly the kind of place you want to discover.

Vistamar

Worth the taxi ride to Miramar for fresh seafood with ocean views. The lobster is caught that day and grilled simply, and the terrace catches the breeze. The definition of a long, lazy Cuban lunch.

Paco's Mar

A family-run seafood paladar with fresh catch and no pretense. The garlic shrimp is drenched in butter, and the hospitality is genuine and warm. It feels like eating at someone's home — because you basically are.

Antojos

Tapas-style paladar with creative small plates and a buzzy, modern vibe. The dishes are meant for sharing, and the cocktails are surprisingly sophisticated. A taste of new Havana's culinary ambition.

Piscolabis

A cozy, dimly-lit tapas bar with Spanish-Cuban fusion and a romantic atmosphere. The jamón croquetas are perfect little bites, and the wine list is solid for Havana. Great for a pre-dinner drink that turns into dinner.

Restaurante Sensacioones

An intimate spot with ambitious Cuban cuisine that pushes beyond the classics. The presentations are elegant, and the chef takes real pride in every plate. One of the city's more refined dining experiences.

Legendarios del Guajirito

The spiritual home of Buena Vista Social Club, with live son music and dancing every night. Order a mojito, find a seat, and let the music sweep you away. It's touristy, but the musicians are the real deal.
